Over say Ogre 3D or Irrlicht

Some horde3d cons i've noticed
Development seems slow
Small community

Some pros i've noticed
I like the design methodology of keeping things simple
Seems modern and uses modern technologies etc

Anyway I cant say much because i have no experience with any of the 3d libarys so hopefully someone here will be able to guide me

Thanks.

Hello,

Personally I see it that way:

Horde 3D is more of a "rendering framework" on top of wich you have to build your own renderer, while Ogre or irrLicht are more "canned solutions" ( albeit you can of course customize the sources of the laters ).

I think Horde 3d is more suited if you know what you want to do and need to experiment and implement some ideas, it gives you the flexibility to do so in a clean and light way, because it only gives you rendering ( no network, audio, etc.. ) to deal with.

Cheers,
Guy.
