I saw somewhere here on this forum a person that said that using compressed textures greatly accelerated the loading time (and I believe him, I am loading just the knight and a sphere and it takes 20 seconds to load), there are a plan to implement that? Or it is implemented already?

If someone make a patch for it, you would add to the SVN?

I just wrote the patch, waiting for feedback from Marciano or Volker on the best way to integrate the files into the directory structure. You can see the thread on compressed textures in the Developer section.
