Post subject:  animating a morphing character

Dear all.

I'm currently building a scientific application with Horde, where I'm trying to animate a morphing character. More specifically, I have modeled a (dog-shaped) character and created a (human-shaped) morph target. (The aim is to blend seamlessly form and motion between dog and human...)

I'm still in the beginning stage of the project, but it seems to me that the morph overrides the skeleton animation (at least in 3d Studio..) - that is, activating the morph pushes the character back into the t-pose. Is it possible at all to drive a morphed character with a skeleton? If not, I'll have to look into other options such as procedurally generating the character on-the-fly, maybe with geometric primitives, which seems very difficult and not very elegant...

This is probably very newbie-ish, and I apologize for any annoyances I might cause. But I would be very grateful for any tips on how to proceed.

You can combine morph targets and skeletal animation and in fact horde supports that.

In 3ds max, you may have to change the order of the skin and morph modifiers in the modifier stack.

Thanks for the reply, then I'll go ahead as I had hoped I could. You also fixed my 3ds max problem, thank you! I feel a bit stupid now. :)
