Hello

Has anyone yet explored how to enable horde3d application to run as many systems as possible. We would like to make our bubblecloud demo viewer to be as compliant as possible for different MS Windows based systems:

http://www.bubblecloud.org/

Quite often we seem to get some assertions related to video card compatibility to OpenGL 2.0 when trying it in different workstations. Is there any way to sniff the capabilities of the hardware and change the rendering pipeline based on that information. Are there some other ways of adaptation to hardware capabilities?

Regards,
Tommi

We have some adaption to hardware capabilities and will certainly get more in order to make use of newer hardware or GL features. However, as Horde is a shader-centric engine, the minimum requirement is OpenGL 2.0. There is no way around this without a considerable amount of effort.
