I have an Intel Integrated GM45 Chipset. I am running Arch Linux. I am running svn head. Edit: I found a log file, and it included the following: Code: 0.000 Extension EXT_texture_compression_s3tc not supported 0.000 Failed to init renderer backend, debug info following Is this extension direly necessary? If this is needed, then I can't use Horde3D as I won't be able to do development on my laptop, and it's back to trying to write Irrlicht bindings for Haskell. Turns out this extension is not included in the open source intel drivers because it's patent encumbered. It'd be really nice if you didn't require this. I'm going to try turning off the requirement and hoping it still works. Edit: Nope, segfault Edit: I was able to get it working by installing the libtxc_dxtn library - but only the Chicago demo. The others now show a blank screen. Any ideas? |

Not only do you need an OpenGL 2.0 capable card, but you also need floating-point texture support, which the Intel integrated cards tend to be missing.Running any sample gives: Unable to initalize engine Make sure you have an OpenGL 2.0 compatible graphics card When I most certainly do, as my glxinfo testifies. You can hack the source code to make it run on your card (I did the same for a GMA X1300), but the samples also have to be adapted to run (disabling HDR from the pipeline), and the performance is generally not that great. |
