The best way to describe the problem is with a screenshot.
I am using the stock deferred pipeline that is currently in the SVN, no modifications whatsoever. And if my memory serves me well, I am having this problem on both machines that I work with. This one currently has an Intel GMA 4500HD chipset and my other machine has an nVidia 470 GTX. Both machines render the scene in the same way.

Here is the log dump. Please note that the invalid resource handle error is part of a separately processed structure that has nothing to do with the scene currently being rendered:

Since you're using the SVN trunk, can you try to go backwards in the revisions and check if there's a version that does not have this problem?

It seems that you're running the chicago sample in a slitly modified way (no crowd sim?). Can you provide a patch that represents your changes on the chicago sample? Or is also happening with the original sample?

More like heavily modified. this is running in my game engine that I have been developing (will post about at end of quarter, end of may). I've just been using the art horde came with as placeholder art. Nevertheless, the pipeline and shaders are all the same. i'll try going through the revisions and see if that fixes it.

also, off the top of your head, what are some reasons that the output would be blurry? note, the pipeline compiled successfuly.

Blurry output: did you ResizePipelineBuffers and set camera's ViewportWidthI and ViewportHeightI?

That was the problem.The pipeline buffers weren't being resized. New problem is that the Deferred renderer is just plain broken. HDR works though, in all its eye-raping glory. :lol:
