Hello, I'm with a swedish independent game developer company http://www.stage3.se and we have made one game before http://www.stage3.se/Games.html.

Anyhow, we put that project on ice and recently started a new project, and we plan to make it with Horde! So I basically just want to say that I think the engine looks very promising and well designed (allthough somewhat lacking in features and optimizations) and really appreciate that it is released as open source.

I thought I'd post some updates here just to inform people about the project and get in touch with other Horde users. I just started with the programming, but so far I have made a lua binding with the luabind library and a lua-console in the engine. Here's a screenshot where you see the console in action: Image

You also see that one of the men is moved up into the air with a command. The console is just for debugging, the main use of the lua binding will be loading and setup scripts for different things (and possibly gameplay-events too).

/Mikael

Hello Mikael,

welcome to the community here. I'm glad that you have opted for Horde to drive your graphics. Your last game looked quite good already, so I'm very curious what you will achieve with Horde.

I will do my best to support you and your company if there are problems. I think Horde is in a quite usable state now although some things are still missing of course. But I'm working hard to get that completed rather soon.

Great that you already have working Lua bindings. As you have probably seen we are currently developing a small editor. Although it is still an early Alpha it also already has some Lua support which is quite useful for testting and rapid prototyping.
