Another application, it features Horde3D working with Havok and FMOD. Binary download.

Hi SpOOky -- I'm always interested in following the progress people are making with Horde projects, so I tried downloading your latest binary. However, when I tried extracting the archive (using each of Alzip, Winrar, and 7-zip) I received errors telling me that hvkFmod.exe was corrupted and my extractions stopped. Can you verify that this archive is working on your end? If it helps, I'm using XP SP2, downloading with Firefox 3, and I tried with all of the unarchivers mentioned above.

Same here: "unexpected end of archive" while extracting the .exe

Yep, that worked now. That's actually very interesting -- it's amazing how much better the performance and realism of this version is compared to your previous one with the Simple Physics Engine. Not sure about you, but I definitely experienced a memory leak while running your Simple Physics Engine demo . . . I could actually watch my FPS decrease at a remarkably smooth and steady rate as the thing ran. Even disregarding that, though, the Havok sample just has a much more natural appearance.

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks - now I can hear the music :D

Turns out that it wont run under WINE (not really that surprising), but any chance of a few screenshots?

There's not allot to see actually :) I have basically rewritten the SPE app, but this time using Havok instead.
The goal being a basic benchmark of these 2 physics engines.

to Corey,

Yes, even though SPE is easier to work with, good for rapid prototyping, Havok brings performance, multithreading,
a solid art pipeline and over all a more natural feel to the simulation; it's a tad harder to work with though.

Looks good, runs very smooth, though I thought Havok cost an arm and a leg to use? Has anyone tried PhysX as I think their license is fairly competitive?

Havok is free for non-commercial use (but only on Windows). PhysX is also Windows only for now (the SDK hasn't been published for other platforms).

Glad to be seeing progress :) i just think it would be easier to read the options with a file parser rather then using lua to read the options.

the read of the options was the excuse for the basic use of lua
