In the contribution guide wiki page it's stated that LGPL code is accepted. Isn't LGPL viral Horde3D itself would become LGPL?

I kept the same statement from previous docs but you're probably right: we should avoid any kind of (L)GPL code in combination with EPL.

As it has been discussed earlier the licensing issue is always a topic you can't trust unless you are a lawyer. But I would agree that we should focus on the EPL and/or combatible licences. So as LGPL isn't compatible with the EPL, we shouldn't accept code licensed under it.
