To disable shadow mapping now it's needed to create a new shader, it would be nice if it's a flag for the model.shader. So large terrain objects that don't want shadow mapping can use the model.shader. |

Disabling shadows for specific objects is certainly useful. What you propose is one option. Another way would be a scene node flag which - when set - will completely skip an object when shadow maps are generated. |
