The vertPos attribute for particle rendering is completely useless, as its value is always zero and the particle position is computed completely from the uniform arrays. This seems to be a relic from builtin gl_Vertex times. The particle's texCoord could be deduced from the parCorners too, but that would mean additional computation. |

This is true, the vertPos attribute is obsolete, thanks for the reminder. Also the vertex shader code for the rotation can be simplified/optimized quite a bit. We'll submit a patch for that soon. |
