Just wanted to say: This looks really nice.

Unfortunately I don't have access to the server of the wiki so I couldn't help you configuring the extensions. We have to wait until Nicolas will be online again.

Thanks Volker :)

I hope the wiki will be an important part of the Horde3D community. Wikis have a very important role in game development these days.

Thanks. Today i added a dynamic gallery (it's on the bottom), and a center option for TextBlock and i think that is it for the style elements. I think horde3D will have one of the coolest wikis around ;)

I am pleased to announce that the new wiki style is up on the official wiki.

I will add some tips on how you should format articles. See if you like it and if there is anything missing. Thanks to Volker for configuring the wiki to support the desired features. The only thing missing is the dynamic gallery.

Beautiful! Love the download icons - did you design those?

Where in the wiki would something like a shading technique go?

Thanks. No the icons are stock, there are 10 or 12 of them for distributions. they are part of a 500.000 icon library.

Probably the Community Portal. http://www.horde3d.org/wiki/index.php5? ... ity_Portal
If you don't think this is a tutorial, then simply create a new categorie by adding:
==Techniques==
[[Category: Techniques]]

and be sure to tag the new technique with [[Category: Techniques]] so it is all indexed.

I hope that when we have enough content on the community portal we can put it on the front page. right now there isn't much there, so it is a bit hidden.

Hey DDd,

I noticed that you moved the images in the Wiki article I created to be hosted on the wiki, thanks for that, would you mind explaining how you got them there (or did the wiki do it robo-tronic-ly under your name)? I'm about ready to update that article with a few more smaller pictures showing the potential pitfalls and pointing out differences as well as using color lookups and such.

If it requires some sort of admin privledges that you can't/won't give then just PM me your email and I'll stick something like "[IMAGE: filename]" in the wiki and email you the images to add. Unless the imageshack approach worked fine.

Also, does the wiki let you add new source code types, I used CPP for the code sections, but it'd be nice if we had a GLSL option. I assume it uses an XML definition for each language. If it can be added, I don't mind doing the work, it can't be as funky as .NET FireBall's syntax stuff. Just point me in the right direction and say "Go!"

Hi,

I added the images to the wiki manually. This requires upload privileges, i have added you to the Wiki_Upload group since i am a bureaucrat, I hope this is ok with Volker and Marciano. Since you are a well known developer i think it is cool?! (Volker/Martiano please let me know if its not ok to do this. I do not want to abuse my place in the project).

The source code styler uses GESHi, GLSL is not supported afaik, so you would have to do it. Here is more info on that http://qbnz.com/highlighter/ you can look at the example files to get the hang of it.

Absolutly no problem! Far from it, big thanks for managing this!

Double thanks on the upload rights add and the link for the GLSL source code issue (looks like a piece of cake, minus any work involved in getting the wiki to register and use it).

Just a thought: would it be possible to remove the target="_blank" attribute from the Forums link on horde3d.org? It's a bit annoying to end up with two tabs every time. Also, I think it might be preventing the forum index from showing up in google searches... not sure though.

I changed it, although I wonder why this should change the behaviour of googles search results.
