Hi!

I'm new here, just wanted to try the engine, but i failed to run even the samples on my pc. :( on an other PC the samples run great, but not on mine.

this is the content of my EngineLog.html:

I have an ibm thinkpad t60, with ati firegl v5200 gpu, which in theory should support opengl 2.0. i tried to download other apps which claim they need opengl 2.0, and they did run.

please help, whats wrong here?

The samples aren't able to find you OpenGL drivers, so they are defaulting to the ancient Microsoft software implementation. Try installing/re-installing the latest AMD/ATI drivers for your video card.

Thank you for the help, that solved it, i can now run the samples. however, the knight sample still wont display right.

The screen is filled with purple and yellow squares, and thats all, it wont move, or change.

Which Catalyst version did you install? Volker tested the engine on an integrated HD 3200 and there were no problems.

I downloaded the "newest" (31 Jan 2009 )one from the official thinkpad drivers page. the version number is v8.533.3.1-081110a-075168.

I guess that the original thinkpad drivers are not up to date and you may suffering from several ATI driver bugs reported in older versions of the catalyst drivers. You may have a look at the mobility modder that allows you to install a current version of the catalyst drivers on your thinkpad. But be aware that my personal experience with modded NVidia drivers is that they sometimes have some annoying behaviour regarding standby and other power consumption related things. But I'm not an expert on that topic.

It still does not work. :(

But at least the errormessages changed in the log...

The one i just downloaded from ATI, i suppose its the newest.
