Has anyone managed to import content from the Unity Asset Store into Horde? I found a content pack that would be amazing for my game, The Protopack, but I would like to know if conversion is realistic before I buy it. I've tried converting some of the models that come with Unity3d, but I haven't been able to get them into Horde.

Thanks in advance!

Edit: I know the scenes/materials/scripts/etc won't convert, I'm just talking about the models and animations.

Since the assets within a UNITY3D file are stored in a proprietary, closed format, I don't think you will have much success with converting unless you are doing reverse engineering.

That's unfortunate. Does anyone know of a content pack similar to the Protopack that is in a format I could easily get into Horde?

You could always contact the author of the pack and ask if they'd be willing to sell your a collada version ;)

I tried that. They responded to my email about what formats it came in but I never heard back from them about whether or not they would sell it to me in one other than UnityPackage.

It shouldn't be impossible to get models out of Unity. Imo I used some add-on to do it a year ago.

I haven't tested it myself, but I'm allowed to provide the exporter for the unity editor made by the Neuland Multimedia GmbH that allows to export scenes from the unity editor to horde.
