Hi, I was just testing some terrain methods ive been using from Modo, and keep finding bits of geometry go missing during the export/import process into Horde. Now it could be very well a Modo plugin fault, but this is the result in Horde Editor:

It seems to occur when the polygon count gets to say 3000, but isn't uniform but rather moves around the model. The above model mesh should be a square.

Anyideas? if it is a Modo issue then I can look into what's going on. Ive uploaded the dae and texture files here: http://www.dark-forge.com/horde3d/files.7z

Best Regards,

A door opens and a homewife brings out a rather sophisticated-looking ground-to-air missile system, and dumps it on the cart.
Thank you.

Not sure about it, but maybe there are some normals flipped that result in a culling of these faces. Haven't used Modo yet, so I don't know if there's something like "Recalculate Normals" as it exists in Blender.

Doesn't appear to be - I don't think its an issue directly todo with Modo, but perhaps more so with the Collada exporter?

That may be the case, since if I remember correctly, the collada converter recalculates the normals again based on the vertex order. So if the vertex orders are clockwise instead of counter-clockwise the normal may be calculated wrong. But these comments are just speculations.

That's true. Especially mirrored geometry can cause problems.

This mesh is this case is not mirrored, and in Modo I have no tool to recalculate the normals as far as I know (never needed too in the last 4 years :)).

Collada to Geo does seem alittle temperamental, though I will see if I can find another exporter and check this end.

Best Regards,
